goldrateIndia.info is published by HouseOfCoder, an independent developer who builds and operates web and mobile products.

This is a small, independently run site, not a media company or a jewellery business. There is one person behind it, and you can reach them directly.

Why it exists

Finding today’s gold rate in India is easy. Finding out what that number actually means for the price you will pay is not. Most rate sites give you a figure and stop there, with no explanation of why the jeweller’s quote is 15% higher, no breakdown of making charges, no way to check a quotation before you agree to it.

This site publishes the benchmark rate for 13 cities, and then does the part that is usually missing: explains how a gold bill is built up, gives you calculators to check a quotation against, and says plainly where every number comes from.

How it is run

• Rates come from the IBJA benchmark, collected automatically twice each trading day. The full detail is on the methodology page.
• We do not apply invented city premiums. Where we do not have verified data, we say so rather than making a number up.
• Every guide carries a byline and a last-reviewed date, and we update them when rules change.
• If we get something wrong, we correct it and say what changed. See corrections.

How the site is funded

Through advertising. We do not sell gold, take commission from jewellers, or accept payment to feature any dealer. Advertisers have no sight of or influence over the rates we publish or what our guides say.
